History: The NP2000 propeller system is a modern, eight-bladed composite upgrade designed by Hamilton Sundstrand to improve the performance and reliability of aging turboprop aircraft. The U.S. military first began using these propellers in 2004 when they were introduced to the Navy’s E-2C Hawkeye and C-2A Greyhound fleets to replace older four-bladed designs. Since then, the system has been widely adopted by the Air National Guard and Marine Corps to modernize the C-130 Hercules fleet, significantly reducing cabin noise and vibration while increasing takeoff thrust.
