One of our current projects is creating some detail parts to improve the 1/43 scale Austin Mini released by Heller. The kit itself is old and fiddly, but can still build into a decent model with some effort. We’re hoping that our detail parts will help push these kits just a bit farther.

So far we’ve developed a better, more detailed wheel, along with 2 different types of tires. The tires in the original kit are 2-piece and leave you with a seam that you have to deal with. Our tires will be one piece and the wheel will press in, so it’s easy to paint separately. The tires themselves come in 2 types, one is a more traditional, all purpose tire. The other has a little more pronounced treads that might look great on a rally build.

Our current project is the roof rack. A perfect add on for a rally build to hold spare tires and equipment, but a useful addition for a family car to store luggage for trips as well.

Next up we might work on some additional lights to further increase the rally build options, but either way we’re hoping to have something ready to offer later this year.
If there are any specific items you think would look great on one of these Minis, be sure to let us know!
